The Thomas County Community Foundation is happy to provide scholarships to students in order for them to further their higher education. While each scholarship fund may have its own specific criteria for its scholarship, TCCF does have some general criteria for all scholarships:
In 2012, scholarship applications must be postmarked no later than March 10, 2012 .
Scholarship recipients will receive funding notification by the end of April each year.
Scholarship awards are divided to allow for one half of the award to be issued in the fall, and the other half is issued in the spring of that funding year-- providing the student maintains grade point and other specified qualifications. Proof of enrollment, transcripts and other pertinent information must be received by TCCF before the scholarship award is issued each semester.
It is required that the student receiving the scholarship send the TCCF a copy of their grades at the end of each semester. These grades will be reviewed for GPA requirements before the next semester check is issued.
Each scholarship fund has different and specific grade point requirements and some have additional performance requirements. Please check the links to the left for designated requirements, or contact the TCCF office with your questions.
TCCF reserves the right to verify the criminal background history of each scholarship applicant. Scholarship applicants who are found to have a criminal record, including misdemeanors, felonies, domestic violence, and crimes against the person will not be eligible for funding. If an approved scholarship recipient fails to maintain a clean record while attending post-secondary education that is made possible with TCCF funds, the TCCF scholarship committee may (in the least) revoke the student's second tuition installment.
The TCCF does not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, sex, or national origin.
Scholarship checks will be made out jointly to the scholarship recipient and the accredited school they will be attending.
Any press coverage on the scholarship granted to the individual must credit the appropriate fund at the Thomas County Community Foundation.
If the scholarship recipient does not use the full portion of the scholarship money, then they must repay TCCF any portion of the scholarship that is not used at the accredited school, unless the specific scholarship states otherwise.
