2022-2023 Scholarships

Lakin Denny is from Colby, Ks.  Lakin has been blessed with a beautiful talent for art.  She recieved the Chuck Dempewolf $500 scholarship and the Joyce Lauritsen Gatlin $500 scholarship through the Thomas County Community Foundation.  Lakin will be attending K-State this fall majoring in Marketing with a minor in Art.  She hopes to continue selling her art work post college.  For those of you who would like to view some of her art work, she has these 2 pieces on display at Goulosh in Colby, where she currently works.

Abigail is from Colby.  Abigail will be attending Benedictine college to pursue a career in speech pathology with an undergrad in elementary education with a concentration in special ed.  Abigail is the second oldest of seven kids.  Her mother has home schooled them since Morgan was in second grade.  Morgan has been actitive in her church and 4-H since 5th grade til she was a junior in high school.  In Morgan's spare time she enjoys doing art, taking care of her plants and listening to music.

Morgan is from Rexford, Ks.  Morgan graduated from Golden Plains High School at the top of her class.  Morgan plans are to attend K-State this fall majoring in Kinesiology on the pre-chiropractic tract.  She will then attend a chiropractic school to obtain her doctorate.  After school Morgan plans to open her own chiropractic bus that travels to small rural towns in Northwest Kansas.

Adriana Valdez Dominguez is a recipient of the Alfred and Fonda Moore scholarship through the Brewster High School.  Adriana received $6,950 for the 2022-2023 school year.  Adriana is enrolled at the Northwest Kansas Tech college in Goodland.  Adriana said, she has always had a passion for art and photography.  She said with the help of this scholarship she will be able to turn her passion into an accomplishment.  She said when she is finished at NWKTC she would like to continue her career as an animator or video producer/director.  She would love to produce movies or assist creating video games.

Nevaeh is the recipient of the Alfred and Fonda Moore Scholarship from the Brewster High School.  Nevaeh will be attending Colby Community College majoring in Psychology.
