Saturday, Aug. 26 | Colby, Kan. Youth of northwest Kansas will once again have the opportunity to learn valuable lessons in outdoor skills and participate in several outdoor activities during the 17th Annual Youth Outdoor Skills Day being hosted by the Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks and Tourism and the Hunting Heritage Group from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 26 north of Colby.
The Thomas County Community Foundation is proudly donating a Badlands backpack with comes with a lifetime guarantee. The backpack will be one of the prizes awarded in a drawing at the end of the day.
Directions: Go north of Colby four miles, turn east for two miles and go north again for another four miles until you reach the Pat Jones property.
Cost: The event is free and limited to the first 60 youth participants. A free bison burger lunch will be provided.
Outdoor Activities: Shotgunning, muzzle loading, archery, orienteering, hunter education and more!
