Youth Outdoor Skills Day a success

Thomas County Community Foundation supported and participated in Youth Outdoor Skills Day on Saturday, 8/26/2017. The Foundation donated a Badlands Backpack which was won in the drawing by Veronica Higerd. YOSD is an annual event hosted by Hunter’s Heritage and Kansas Department of Wildlife & Parks. The purpose is to get youth outdoors and develop an appreciation by participating in activities such as archery, shotgun shooting, rifle shooting, muzzle loading, and compass & mapping. Numerous adults donate their time to assist in the events and a great time was had by all including a noon meal of buffalo burgers.
